This is everything.
I have been angry lately —
actually outraged
at what I see going on in the world
It is like someone washed the windows
on my filthy car
and I am now driving around the same neighborhood
seeing things completely differently
Seeing things more clearly
It has made it hard for me to share
because I am still integrating.
I find myself in overwhelm often

But here is what I do know —
I know unequivocally that
what we do,
how we live
and who we are matters
And now, more than ever
we have the potential
Each one of us
to have a massive impact

You can change the world
The truth is,
you already are
We all are
So let’s be really intentionally here
about how we are proceeding
How we are showing up,
speaking up
and the choices we are making day to day
Because it matters
And your message doesn’t have to be distributed
in a grand way on a massive platform to matter

How you treat the people close to you
impacts the world.
How you talk to the checkout girl at the grocery store
impacts the world
How you talk to the man you sit next to on the airplane
impacts the world
AND — if you want to have a bigger audience,
if you really feel that you have something to say
that the world needs to hear in a bigger way
this is the time to go all in
to give it your all

There is a massive shift happening in
how we learn
who we listen to
and who we trust

There are teenagers with millions of people watching
their videos on YouTube within a day of it being posted
There are mothers with blogs reaching millions of people a week
from the comfort of their own home
There are people with stories of recovery inspiring millions
to heal on Instagram with their transparency and authenticity

This is a time unlike any other
You get to choose
How you want to make a difference in the world
You get to decide what you want your impact to be
Every day
Every moment

So please do not feel powerless,
do not let yourself go into a story of
“nothing I do matters”
This is not the time to feel helpless
This is the time to go all in

Make a choice
Make a difference
One that in 10, 20, 40, 60 years
At least you can say,
I know I did the very best I could

Be fierce my friends
Be committed
Be loving
Be true
