This line is such a sweet reminder
that we must not give up on ourselves
I know when I was in the throes of my eating disorder
there were many times I felt scared, confused,
and in so much pain I wanted to give up
I wanted to disappear
I thought often about leaving this world,
but I had heard stories of other people recovering
so I knew that it was possible
I just had to figure out how to break free
It feels like I have opened a million doors
Each one gave me a little more of me back,
till one day I woke up on the other side
In some ways, it is really that simple, and that challenging
This is what I wanted to remind you of tonight
No matter what challenge you may be facing,
whether it has to do with food,
body, work, relationship, or family
the dawn will come
It always comes, and that is the one thing you can count on
As long as you keep opening the doors
and you keep making your healing a priority,
you will find the relief you are searching for
I have seen this thousands of times now
Trust and believe
