Some people
get in deeper
taking home
in you
turning even
the cold
and almost shut down
parts of your heart
into a shelter
with a fire
so warm
it slowly begins
to thaw out everything

This woman
melted me

We met
when I was
as friends
when I was questioning
and if I would ever
really have it in me
to let a woman in again

I had been burned badly
more than once
by a fire I most definitely
had a part in making

It had me wondering
what was wrong with me
and why I couldn’t
seem to create
the kind of relationships
I had imagined
were possible

Briana saved me here
and for that alone
I will be forever grateful

But there is more…

This woman loves
like very few I know

Her love is quite literally
in the details

And I am constantly in awe
of how much she silently sees

She is a mama
of two of the most beautiful girls
I have ever had the pleasure of knowing
and she loves them
and her family
with a devotion that inspires me

She is a friend
to many
in a way that is deep and true
and she impresses me regularly
by how many people she holds
so dear
with such ease

She is a business owner
a genuine entrepreneur
a woman who runs multiple companies
all committed
to making the world a better place
to helping people find more peace
and more happiness

She cares
She loves
She grows
She knows

Briana, I just adore you
and what matters to you

I wish you the best birthday ever

I hope you gracefully fill your energy mapping sessions, so you can do the work you love most, the work that you feel called to do.

I hope your marriage with Peter continues to be a source of support and strength filled with a ridiculous amount of delight. I love where I see the two of you at; it’s beautiful.

I hope your girls continue to blossom. Sabrina’s short story blew me away; what a brilliant creative mind that girl has. And Sailor, what can I say? She is just pure joy expressed.

I hope you feel enriched by you friends and are continually met in a way that feels nourishing to you.

And I hope you always know how very much I love you.
