yes-more-of-that-please

I have never had
much stomach
for bragging
I find myself cringing
at those I find boastful
but it isn’t clean
there is an overlay
of jealousy
an envy
of those who feel
so comfortable
celebrating self

Today though
I feel proud
I feel the urge to boast
I want to tell you
I created something
amazing with Marc David
that without a doubt
I know
is changing the world
for the better
way better

And I am proud
I am moved deeply
I am inspired
I am just so very happy
that I built a business
that helps millions
and trains professionals
to go out into the world
and support those
who struggle
with food, body and health
in a real and meaningful way

I often think about death
I often ask myself…
If I died today
would I be proud
of the way I lived

This weekend
as I was up on stage
looking at a sea of smiling faces
tears came easily
and I thought
yes

I would be
proud
of this

I would be so very glad
I helped create this
The Institute for the Psychology of Eating

I feel honored
that I have made a positive impact
on the lives of so many
and that those people
are committed to going out
into the world
and doing the same

It feels like a dream
come true
for me
A girl who lived
and breathed
an eating disorder
for over a decade
to know I am part of helping
others break free

It’s truly
the best feeling
I have ever had

It has me wanting
to be here
on earth still
It has me once again eager
to get out of bed
in the morning
happy to get back to work
remembering why I do
what I do

Life hasn’t always been so sweet
for me
I have often wondered
what’s the point of it all
and why bother
when life has felt rather heavy
and often disturbing

But I found my way
by focusing
on what I want
over what I don’t

And this
this is what I want
more of

I want more
people who want to
live true
and help others
do so too

I want more people
committed to turning
their challenges
into fuel
More people
committed to helping those
still lost
still struggling
in the dark

More people
like the ones
I got to spend
last weekend with

Yes
More of that
please

Gratefully,
❤ Emily Joy Rosen
