This. I think about death often
I think about life always
This is the way I would like to go out
This is something I would like to be able to say,
“I used everything you gave me”
I spent a lot of years in the shadows dreaming
I almost convinced myself that fantasizing was doing
And my world was mostly imaginary
Stop scrolling please
Stop numbing out with your imaginings
And start doing
Take action
Hands shaking
Self doubt looming
Judgements screaming
You must do something
So why not do the best of you
Why not give what you have left in you
Why not go out playing full out
These are the questions I ask myself each day
Every day as I rise
To face a list of what sometimes feels like
endless impossibilities
I think
to myself
Well, what else would you do?
Would you rather keep this energy all for you?
Because I remember when you tried to do that
You became nearly mad
It wasn’t until I got really clear
that what is of primary importance to me
is to be useful
Truly useful
That I was able to find my Joy
So sweetly
All the stories
Of what I should do
Who I should be
And how I should operate
I just don’t care so much anymore
about how anyone copes with being a human being
I just hope you don’t wait too long
To use all the talents given to you
And I for one,
hope you arrive at your final destination used
In the very best sort of way
because you gave it your all
Every day
in the little and big sort of ways
May you use
all that was given to you
