I used to be terrified of being alone
And I used people so I didn’t have to be with me
You see there was a lot of ugly
dancing just under the surface
of my painstakingly painted perfected reality
And it wasn’t until I truly got
I had just been doing my very best to take care of me
that I found compassion
for how I put my shattered pieces
back together differently
It is the parts of ourselves that we deny
that grow strong
fighting for our attention
So please be fierce
when it comes to self inventory
Fiercely committed
Fiercely compassionate
Fiercely kind
You will never regret being kind
And remember
We are always only doing
the best we know how to
moment to moment
So take note
take care
And do the work
Your work
You may even be surprised
by the love
you have waiting
for you
