please this. we do not know what wars are going on down where the spirit meets the bone. i remind myself of this often. i have seen time and time again how wrong i have been (when I presume to know). how quick we are to judge (how quick i am to judge). this is a constant practice for me in remembering to not make assumptions (about someone’s inner world based on how they be). i was reminded of this again yesterday (humbling me always life is). take the time to ask questions instead (with genuine curiosity). have compassion. be kind, remembering always the person you want to be (even when it doesn’t seem easy, even when it isn’t well received). and keep your heart open. you may be surprised by what is going on in the inner world of the people around you, i know I have been. and i know i have been most hurt here by people not taking time to pause and check in with me about what is going on (truly for me). and i get it, we are busy, we are taxed, we have our own stresses and pressing challenges (playing in the background or screaming out in front of us). the funny thing is when i do (check in), when I don’t assume and bring sincere care instead, not only does it create more connection (usually) it also has me feeling better, more aware, more in my heart (more in love) more here and less at war (with myself). a good reminder of our humanity…
